PEELER - Stripping away more than clothes

Caveat: Peeler is one of the productions that Dead Sexy Mag profiled for our July issue.

I had an good idea about the "concept" and "idea" of the play, however I had no idea what I was going to get. I must say that I was very impressed at Kiran Friesen's first foray into playwrighting. PEELER manages to touch your head, touch your heart and touch your "you know what".
Ms. Friesen is a very charismatic and talented performer and most important very believable in the central role. She has that easygoing charm and excellent pole dancing skills that to me are a killer combination.
Peeler concerns itself with a strippers last night performing at a club as she recounts a little about her history, encounters with various customers (all played very believably by Dylan Juckes) and finally touches on why it is her last night. Admittably the "surprise" is a bit predictable and slightly overmelodromatic, however for a first production, Kiran has created characters we can care about (I wish I saw more of the super sexy Patrice Goodman and interaction between the two strippers) so if Peeler is any indication Ms. Friesen is a talent to keep our eye on!

Verdict: See it! It's Sexy, it's Sassy and It's Sweet...
