So it was back to the Factory, this time to check out DIRTY GIRLS.
The previous reviews were good but said it was kinda fluffy.
Well fluffy is good when well executed and this production definetly was that.
Stage Design, Sound, Writing, Timing, the Performances were ALL spot on.
Dirty Girls is exactly what the Fringe is about to me. I couldn't see a play like this staged anywhere else.
Writer and Actor Kat Sandler was the highlight to me in a performance that was zany, smart, cute, you name it. She plays the ultimate dirty girl and she also steals the show.
Support from Sasha Kovacs as the anal royal "secretary", Adam Barrett as the clean freak king and Stuart Graham Bell as the slimy matchmaker was awesome.
I laughed a lot and the laughs were well earned and boy did the cast work. Esp. the girls who in the final 10 mins do get dirty (watch out first 3 rows!)
Verdict? Go see it. Sure its fluffy and doesn't make you think too hard, but the performances rock!
