Here's another one for ya..
was in the Kensington Area and decided to check out the musical comedy SAUCY WENCHES IN THE TRENCHES.
I was curious as to the story, the tunes and how they would use the space. (This is a BYOV show taking place at one of my fav places, the long running Free Times Cafe).
OK so what did I see? And did I like it? those are the $$$ questions.
well
Heather Dick and Carolyn Lykkemark are extremely likeable, charismatic, cute and can definetly sing however this show has no real storyline to grab onto (just a situation) and when not singing, their characters are not really interesting either. The 2 stars are definetly well matched and both do stand out with their own style but I couldn't help wondering why exactly was this a Fringe Show and why these talented divas did not just go fully for the cabaret, dinner theatre route instead?
Verdict?
See it if you love showtunes and 2 sassy "wenches" to deliver them.
Skip it if you don't.
